graffiti corners

Here are images of corners covered with graffiti, street art, murals, tags, stickers, posters. The photographs were taken from 2015 to 2024 in cities from New Orleans to New York to Ljubljana.

The displays are filled with voices crying out for attention and challenging the mainstream. Messages for the masses. Messages for a few. Messages aimed at no one. They are mainly illicit, sometimes sanctioned, occasionally inspirational, and at times crude.

People with paint in hand and something to say have boldly taken over the corners, located on empty buildings, public structures, and open businesses. Such places are possibly the most accessible and visible canvases. Available to the unknown and the known. Evocative. Anarchic. Impermanent. Evolving. Vandalism to some. Street art to others. Viewing is free.

Upcoming Exhibit: September 2025 at The Aurora Project in Aurora, WV. Previous: Summer 2024—Invisible, an artist-owned gallery in Thomas, WV.
