graffiti corners
People with paint in hand and something to say have boldly taken over corner walls of empty buildings, public structures, and open businesses.
Such corners are possibly the most accessible and visible canvases. Available to the unknown and the known. Evocative. Anarchic. Impermanent. Evolving. Vandalism to some. Street art to others. Viewing is free.
The displays are filled with voices crying out for attention and challenging the mainstream. Messages for the masses. Messages for a few. Messages aimed at no one. They are mainly illicit, sometimes sanctioned, at times crude, and occasionally inspiring.
Mark’s photographs of corners, taken during urban walks, show walls covered with graffiti, street art, murals, tags, stickers, and posters. He made the images from 2015 to 2025 in cities from New Orleans to New York to Ljubljana.
